» Newbury Park

Located at the far western end of Thousand Oaks and in the northwestern part of the Greater Los Angeles area, Newbury Park is a community that enjoys its seclusion and natural beauty.

With an immense open space, Newbury Park is a quiet and naturally beautiful community that has earned a reputation as one of the most scenic areas in the Conejo Valley. It offers numerous parks and miles of trails, with the most popular options being Boney Mountain Trail, Point Mugu State Park, and Sierra Vista Trail.

Newbury Park housing market is a mix of new and old, with most homes dating back to the 1960s. But it is among the most affordable parts of the Conejo Valley real estate market.

» Westlake Village

Westlake is among the most coveted parts of the Conejo Valley. It’s nestled at the center of the valley and therefore, dubbed as the heart of Conejo Valley. Westlake Village has two primary residential areas:

  • Lakeside Westlake Village (comprises the houses built in the 1960s and 1970s)
  • North Ranch (which characterized by custom, more expensive homes)

» Oak Park

Oak Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Conejo Valley with a unique blend of a super laidback lifestyle, easy-access urban proximity, and impressive mountain views.

Spanning around 2600 acres of land, Oak Park, CA, is the smallest of the valley’s neighborhoods. It lies North of Agoura Hills and Westlake Village and east of Ventura County’s North Ranch neighborhood.

Oak Park real estate has plenty of options. You’ll find an older area built primarily in the 70s and 80s and a newer portion developed in the 80s and 90s. Apartment complexes are the most prevalent, accounting for 43.7% of the neighborhood’s housing units.

Oak Park schools are within the Oak Park Unified Schools District and boast test scores typically significantly higher than state and national averages.

» Agoura Hills

Located at the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, Agoura Hills is a beautiful, laid-back suburban community with plenty to offer. It borders Oak Park and Westlake Village and lies about 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

In plenty are kid-friendly parks, including Chumash Park, which features a playground, ball field, and picnic tables. Others include Morrison Park, Old Agoura Park, and Forest Cove Park.

Homes in Agoura Hills are mostly medium-large single-family homes built in the 1970s and 1980s. Many offer lovely views of the surrounding mountains and canyons.

You'll be pleased to know that Agoura Hills residents benefit from great schools. They are within the Las Virgenes Unified School District and consistently rank among the best in California for both academics and sports.

» Lake Sherwood

Nestled in the hills of the Santa Monica Mountains, Lake Sherwood is an unincorporated residential community overlooking Lake Sherwood reservoir. It is south of the affluent city of Thousand Oaks and measures 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2), with a population of approximately 1,700 people.

Lake Sherwood has frequently been used as a filming location for movies, including Robin Hood (1922), Thunder Mountain (1952), Star Trek: Insurrection (1998), and many more.

The area has been home to many celebrities, including Britney Spears, Sylvester Stallone, Paul Anka, and Wayne Gretzky. It’s therefore not surprising that Sherwood Lake real estate is among the priciest around Conejo Valley.
